sweet home
This illustration is a personal reflection on the experience of returning to my childhood bedroom after many years. The furniture and decorations—especially the closet adorned with tropical fish patterns—remain untouched, preserving a version of the past that no longer fits who I am now.
In the illustration, I depict plastic-like, translucent fish floating through the space, referencing the artificiality of memories and the surreal feeling of being back in a place that once felt familiar. The room now feels too small for me, both physically and emotionally.
This work explores themes of displacement, nostalgia, and growth, capturing the quiet tension between home as a space of comfort and a reminder of distance—from home, from the past, and from a younger self.
