Hand Shadow
                                                           11–28–2024

This piece explores themes of confinement, dependency, and disconnection within a surreal, boxed-in space.

A figure curls tightly inside a confined structure, their elongated limbs contorted to fit. Red cords run from their body—threaded through their ear, arm, and back—connecting to an abstract device held by a thin, spectral creature.
The cord ultimately leads to an outlet, as if the figure’s life force or consciousness is being powered, drained, or controlled externally.

The glowing red lines suggest both intimacy and intrusion, highlighting a fragile connection to an unknown source. The confined setting evokes a sense of psychological enclosure—being plugged into something that sustains and imprisons at once.

Through muted tones, eerie lighting, and surreal proportions, "Hand Shadow" reflects on the uneasy balance between isolation and reliance, and the quiet tension of existing within structures that no longer serve us.
