Fishing!
11–18–2024
This piece explores the tension between entrapment and transformation, suspended in the space between past and present. A solitary figure moves through a distorted, fluid environment where water, fish, and fragments of memory merge into one surreal landscape.
The hook lodged in the figure’s back represents both a burden and a tether—an invisible connection to something left behind. It evokes a sense of being held back by emotional weight, even while in motion. Through dreamlike composition and flowing movement, the work speaks to the discomfort of growth: the feeling of evolving beyond a once-familiar world while still carrying its residue.
